Rhys Tribolet

My name is Rhys Tribolet. I’m from Sydney, Australia. Before living overseas in Spain and South America for just short of two years across 2024 and 2025, I gained a PhD with the University of Technology Sydney working with the Sydney Swans Football Club. This PhD focused on integrating skill acquisition principles and performance analysis into the decision-making processes of training design. In addition to research outputs, I co-authored a book looking at measuring and developing collective behaviour in football. If you’d like an overview of some of my research and my role when I worked at UTS and the Swans, here’s a short video and blog piece:

Previous to this, I worked as an S&C for the Sydney Swans Academy and I continue to work as a sessional academic for the University of Technology Sydney, teaching across their sport and exercise science undergraduate and masters of high performance courses.

I’m interested in providing insight into various elements of sport including but not limited to statistics and analysis, coding, coaching science and skill acquisition. I am broadly interested across these fields in addition to youth sport, talent identification and development, complex systems and human performance in general. Get in contact if you have any questions on anything!

I love travelling, spending time in nature, especially hiking and being at the beach, reading and listening to music, in addition to improving my Spanish and Portuguese.
